‘Extraterrestrial crystal ball’ hits the auction block at Christie’s

Dozens of historic meteorites — some stony, some iron, some studded with glittering gems or holding stardust that is billions of years outdated — are actually up for public sale at Christie’s. 

Many of those uncommon area rocks had been as soon as a part of the moon, whereas others got here from Mars or broke off of asteroids orbiting within the belt between Mars and Jupiter.
