Our Milky Means galaxy is a spiral galaxy. It developed into its flat disk form over billions of years. However astronomers have found a distant and younger galaxy that has a remarkably related form.

Host Melissa Hoffman of the Nationwide Radio Astronomy Observatory talks about how this younger galaxy was found, and what it tells us about our personal Milky Means.
