With a diameter of round 115,000 light-years, this vibrant spiral galaxy is an identical dimension to our personal galaxy (the Milky Means) and was found in 1784 by the German-British astronomer William Herschel.
The Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies is a catalog which was produced in 1966 by the American astronomer Halton Arp. NGC 7678 is among the many 338 galaxies offered on this catalog, which organizes peculiar galaxies in accordance with their uncommon options.
